Well this isnt the smile that you make on your face but this is actually the subject that we 'on-the-spot' learn the day we have the test 2 of KOS 1110K. Sorry, this time i dont have any picture to post since im not using mine laptop or my properties in doing the assignment which suppose to be submitted a way long ago...
Simplified Molecular Input Line Entry Specification is a specification for unambiguously describing the structure of chemical molecules using short ASCII strings. SMILES strings can be imported by most molecule editors for conversion back into two-dimensional drawings or three-dimensional models of the molecules. So by this way we can generate the structure of a molecule if we do have their smile notation or string...well idk which one haha. For this course the editor is the ChemSketch software which is not installed in my laptop...
Sometimes it would be easy if we just consider this as a chemical formula of a molecule, it is...but in its on way (not following the systematic chemical formula)..thus dont use it on chem exam haha.
The assignment is done in two ways..either we draw the structure first then convert it to its smile string or either vice-versa, but this converting string to structure may take ages and some osrt of trial and error thing, but it worth trying as sometime the same drawing give false result or none at all.
Protein Data Bank, PDB
Then, here's the image of the structure using RasMol, crystal structure of anionic trypsin isoform 3 from chum salmon (blue one) using the ribbon display with temperature colouring. The information of the structure can be get at here.
This structure is viewed in the ball and stick display and shapely coloured.

A new topic which also in our syllibus. Its more towards sketching or preparing a chemical structure. Many of the student might seem it closely resemble chemdraw from ChemBioOffice which also gives more or less the same (some) function. First glance-excited to the software and still reading the tutorial ie the instruction (2.30 pm till 4.oo pm).
At 3.00 pm
Finished the 2 chapter in the tutorial, moving on the third one. It looks a way better than Chemdraw as it won by having lots of function but i dont see a function to create or generate structure from name as it do in Chemdraw hoho.
At 3.30 pm
Nighmare begin...firstly seem hard..requires art skill ie sketching skill.
Somehow need to finish 5 pages with each one consist of one sub-chapter in chapter 9 which are:
- drawing energy reaction graph or diagram
- orbital drawing
- drawing apparatus of disstilation
- drawing DNA
- drawing lipids and micelles
Surprisingly, it have a "table of content" of apparatus drawing haha.
Finally, managed to finish at 530 pm.

30th September
Attending the class as before, and this time we are learn graphing using excel spreadsheet. So-called first time using excel 'functionally' making tables and then the trendline, to produce the 'best-fit' line which connect the data 'precisely'.
Quite confusing at the first time (or better say first two hours) then quite understandable at the last minute haha. Anyway even the task are four in total we managed to finish them (regardless of correctness) after having hard times to translate the 2003 excel instruction to the newer version the 2007 excel version...wth.
Somehow since the tuto has been submitted, we are requested to post something about the class session here, so yeah there may be many or may not be plenty of things to write about, and she said to do our best...actually depends on our own creativity. At first i thought to embedded the excel spredsheet ie the answer here haha.
Anyway the answer is still in the storage, and wonder too how to put it directly accessible to be executed or downloaded without using file-sharing host. Any idea?

First day attending KOS 1110 where the time the lecturer changed, from Br. Salihi to Ss. Norazlinda and... the subject matter also change. Before this i learn MAPLE programming and now HTML, well not familiar with this one, except for BB codes. Anyway it would be my first blog published this year after a long silent since i leave Shah Alam.
What else to write huh? kinda weird (sorry for my broken english since no order to use formal english has been issued by her hehe) since some without hesitation (perhaps) write down their personal details, not too personal but who knows CIA or FBI are lurking somewhere in the web-world. ~~ assumption only lar...
Many things to test, but they may take time...a little exercise;
Doodle Bring your doodle to life and battle the enemy erasers. |
Play this free game now!! |
Somehow..lets enjoy this
So the moral of the story is...use good verbal and non-verbal language especially when your dealing with your person-in-law haha...
Looks like the video didnt load fast, but i wonder if its caused by the slow connection. and the game, i thought its supposed to appear as flash type game directly on the page instead of visiting its own page, and i wonder how to do it. Since no time left, just let it be like that.
